New human-like species found in S. Africa[one more ancestor for DARWIN ?]
he new species has been named Australopithecus sediba. Although some scientists believe the Australopithecines are directly descended from Homo, some others argue the species can be categorized as a Homo itself. A. sediba has a mixture of archaic and modern features.
Researchers now think the split between apes and the hominid lineage occurred around seven million years ago in Africa.
